The A35 motorway was closed to traffic for more than an hour, in the Colmar-Strasbourg direction, Wednesday November 15, after an accident, between the Barr exit and the Obernai exit.
Shortly before 6 p.m., in heavy traffic, a car hit another from behind. The two vehicles, heavily damaged, came to rest across the two lanes of traffic, leaving only the emergency lane to pass.
But she didn’t stay free for long: a truck got stuck in the mud, going around the stationary vehicles, blocking all passage.
We had to wait until 7:10 p.m. and the repair of a first car for traffic to reopen, only on the left lane. The repair of the second vehicle was carried out around 8:15 p.m. and allowed the two lanes to reopen, the truck not obstructing passage.
No injuries, but more than 8 km of traffic jams
Although the accident generated more than 8 km of traffic jams, the two drivers, a 19-year-old man and a 54-year-old man, were not injured. They were examined on site by the Obernai and Barr firefighters, but were able to leave without going to the hospital.
The CEA services and the gendarmerie were mobilized.
