Update from May 21, 2020, 3:17 p.m .: Two motorcyclists and one passenger suffered serious injuries on Thursday at 12.15 p.m. accident on the L3084 between Vöhl and Herzhausen.
As the officers from the Korbach police station report, at the time of the accident a 61-year-old motorcyclist from Rheda-Wiedenbrück (NRW) was driving the L3084 from Herzhausen towards Vöhl im Waldeck-Frankenberg District (Northern Hesse).
Accident near Kassel: All parties seriously injured
For reasons that have not yet been clarified, he encountered oncoming traffic in a right-hand bend and collided with a 54-year-old motorcyclist from Bad Berleburg, who was driving the L3084 in the opposite direction with his wife (52) as a passenger.
The collision and the subsequent fall caused all those involved to be seriously injured, but according to the current state of knowledge, not life-threatening and brought to nearby hospitals.

Accidents in Northern Hesse: Number of traffic fatalities is falling
Overall, the number of fatalities in northern Hesse is falling. In 2019, according to the North Hesse police, 30 people were killed and 801 seriously injured. Compared to the previous year 2018, this means a decline in the death toll of 9.1 percent.
In addition, no child has been killed in a traffic accident on the streets of northern Hesse for more than six years. The number of fatalities reached the lowest level since the start of statistical surveys.
In total, however, slightly more accidents occurred on Northern Hesse’s roads in 2019 than in 2018. There were 22,456 traffic accidents, 1,092 more than in the previous year. 3,912 people died in an accident. That is five fewer people than last year.
Not the only accident in Northern Hesse:
A bad accident occurred in Bad Sooden-Allendorf in the Werra-Meissner district near Kassel. The B27 is fully blocked.
