In Hägendorf there was a collision between an articulated vehicle and a bicycle on Thursday afternoon. The cyclist was injured and had to be taken to a hospital by an ambulance. The driver of the truck involved initially left the scene of the accident, but reported to the police a short time later.
On Thursday, August 20, 2020, at around 2.30 p.m., there was a side collision between a saddle-powered vehicle and a bicycle on Oltnerstrasse in Hägendorf.
According to current knowledge, the cyclist and the truck driver were on the Oltnerstrasse in the direction of Rickenbach at the same time. In the area after the traffic lights, the cyclist strayed from the cycle path for reasons still to be clarified and collided with the underrun protection of the articulated vehicle.
As a result, the cyclist fell and injured himself. He had to be taken to a hospital by an ambulance. The driver of the articulated vehicle continued the journey in the direction of Rickenbach without bothering about the cyclist and the claims settlement.
When he drove past the scene of the accident on the way back and recognized the cyclist, he immediately reported to the Police canton Solothurn.
