Accident in front of the Saidah Tower, South Jakarta happened last night, Wednesday (25/5/2022). The accident also resulted in the death of a husband and wife.
The incident also involved several other vehicles. Until now, the police are still investigating the cause of the deadly accident. Here’s the information.
The accident occurred on Wednesday (25/5/2022) night at 20.00 WIB in front of the Saidah Tower, Jalan MT Haryono, South Jakarta. One of the survivors named Kokoy told the chronology of the accident.
Kokoy is a taxi driver whose car was involved in the accident. Just then, the car he was driving was suddenly rammed from behind.
“Initially the Pajero stopped at a position 200 meters from behind here. Not long after, there was a scream, I didn’t know the motorbikes were hit by the Pajero driver. Not long after my car was rammed,” said Kokoy when interviewed at the location, Wednesday (25/05/2020). 5/2022).
He said traffic conditions at the location were jammed. He did not know why the driver of the Pajero suddenly accelerated his car so fast that it hit seven motorbikes before crashing into the taxi he was driving.
“The motorbikes were crushed by my car too, one motorbike was crushed, many were injured and some died,” he said.
Killed the Motorcycle Rider Couple
As a result of the accident, several people were injured and two people died. Polda Metro Jaya said there were 6 victims as a result of the accident, with 2 of them dead.
“The temporary victims are 6 people. Two died at the crime scene and four are still being treated at the hospital,” said Director of Lantas Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo, Thursday (26/5/2022).
The two people are a husband and wife (couple) motorcycle riders named Rakha and Nova. Now they have been buried in TPU Kalimalang.
There are Toddler Victims
Police said one of the injured victims was a toddler. He has been taken to the hospital.
“The toddler is at the Budi Asih Hospital, the information was brought there. The victim at the TKP was taken by an ojek driver to be treated to Budi Asih, rescued,” said Iptu Denny Setiawan.
Denny said the victim was looking for his parents when he was taken to the hospital.
“It’s just that the parents are confused, because two people died,” he said.

Pajero Driver Arrested by Police and Tested for Urine
Pajero driver suspected of being the cause the accident in front of the Saidah Tower. The police have also conducted a urine test on the Pajero driver, but the results are not yet known.
