BELLUNO An 11-year-old from Trieste was injured on Monte Civetta during the ski races of the “Trofeo Lattebusche”. The accident took place on Saturday 6 March, around 1 pm in Alleghe, in the province of Belluno, near the Piani di Pezzè. The 11-year-old suffered a displaced fracture of his left humerus and will have to be operated on.
A 13-year-old boy from Treviso was also involved in the accident: the latter, during the ascent of the track on foot, slipped on the ice, colliding with the Trieste athlete who was in the starting area of the races.
The man from Trieste was injured: he was transported by ambulance to the hospital in Agordo, where he is waiting to be operated on. Prognosis is reserved. The soldiers of the Cortina d’Ampezzo mountain rescue team also intervened on the spot, present for the surveillance and rescue service on the slopes during the ski races.
