A daring maneuver in a construction site on the A61 caused a lot of trouble for a 24-year-old from South Tyrol on Tuesday afternoon. According to the police, the man had overtaken a heavy transport at around 4.45 p.m. on the construction site in the Schifferstadt district and grazed it. An eyewitness had filmed the process with the cell phone and called the police. A patrol from the Ruchheim autobahn police was able to intercept the Italian and control it at the next parking lot. It turned out that the man – as a quick test showed – had THC, the active ingredient from hashish or marijuana, in the blood. He is now facing criminal proceedings for endangering road traffic, escaping accidents and violating the Narcotics Act. He had to pay a security deposit and was not allowed to drive any further.
