How incredibly awful and sad!
A three-year-old boy fell over the balcony of the 29th floor of an apartment building in the Harlem district of New York on Saturday. Neighbors heard the impact as the little one landed on scaffolding on the fifth floor, as the “New York Postreported.
“It sounded like something heavy,” says Tangarine Castro, who lives on the 23rd floor. “We looked down and everyone came out of the house. Anyone who lives upstairs could see the little boy in his yellow t-shirt.”
The boy’s mother was outside at the time, yelling “My baby, my baby is up there.” The little one had stayed in the apartment with his father. He ran down the stairs crying and tried to climb onto the scaffolding, which he couldn’t do. The boy was taken to a hospital, where only his death could be determined.
A neighbor describes the boy as beautiful but very withdrawn. She knows about domestic violence within the family and often helped the mother to buy diapers and milk.
The police are temporarily classifying the accident as an accident.
