A traffic accident caused the death of a person and a horse in Havana, where a truck collided with a cart that was traveling overnight in the municipality of La Lisa.
The incident was reported in the Facebook group ‘Accidents, Buses & Camiones, for more experience and fewer victims’, where they stated that the crash occurred on the night of Sunday, August 13.
According to Internet user Denis Molina, the accident involved four people, two who were traveling in the cart and another two who were traveling aboard the truck.
“Tremendous accident half an hour ago in Reparto Fraga, La Lisa. A truck against a little spider (horse cart). It was in front of me,” this person said.
The user claimed that all four injured received help, with three of them being in serious condition.
“The four people were helped, two from the spider and two from the truck. Three of them are in bad shape. God protect you, take extreme measures my people, there are families waiting for us at home.
The post was accompanied by a photo showing that the truck ended up with considerable damage to the front end.
These damages, which are concentrated in the engine area, appear to be the result of the impact of the vehicle against the horse.
Among the comments in the publication, other witnesses to the accident indicated that one of those who was traveling on board the cart lost his life, as well as the horse that pulled it.
“I’ve just been on the spot. All very dark, the horse sadly died. The passengers took them to the hospital in poor condition. God willing and everyone recover soon. But that’s ugly,” wrote one of the netizens.
Other members of the group pointed out that the area in which the accident occurred has a maximum limit of 40 kilometers per hour, but that the images of the truck suggested that it was traveling at a much higher speed.
In his opinion, speeding, as well as the fact that the truck was traveling without lights, were the main factors that caused this road incident.
“I don’t know the causes of that accident, but those spiders are dangerous. Many times, their only lighting is the flashlight of a mobile, and even so, some go in the middle of the road”, commented one of the users.
