In the night from Saturday to Sunday, witnesses reported that an abandoned car was lying in the ditch between Dermbach and Wiesenthal near Lindigshof. A little later, the officers of the Bad Salzungen Police Inspectorate were able to locate the driver of the car.
A breath alcohol test carried out showed a value of 0.97 per thousand. In addition, a preliminary drug test reacted positively to narcotics.
The 24-year-old driver was then taken to the Bad Salzungen Clinic for a blood test.
Several displays now await the driver.
