The prefect of Maine-et-Loire has just reinforced the conditions of access to the woods and forests of the department. Access to them is totally prohibited except for exceptions.
From this Wednesday, August 10, access to the woods and forests of Maine-et-Loire is prohibited due to the risk of fire going from “severe” to “very severe”.
The new decree issued by the prefecture of Maine-et-Loire prohibits access except to public services and owners.
The prohibitions taken by the previous decree, dated August 2, are maintained:
- It is forbidden to use fire, to smoke, to light barbecues, to make public or private leisure fires in the woods and forests and in the areas located less than 200 meters from the woods and forests.
- Logging, silvicultural work, civil engineering, carbonization and mobile sawing activities as well as road clearing are prohibited.
- Agricultural activities (harvest of field crops, pressing and crushing) must be carried out in the presence of a stubble cultivator and a water reserve of an appropriate volume. Each vehicle must be equipped with a fire extinguisher (6-9kg).
