Access to Renipont beach reserved for the local population from Wednesday

The mayor of Lasne, Laurence Rotthier, announced on Tuesday that she had taken a decree to limit access to Renipont beach. Even if the shops and restaurants in the area respect sanitary rules, the particularly hot weather brings a particularly high number of visitors to the area. This raises in particular concerns about unauthorized parking outside, queuing in front of the entrance where disgruntled people do not respect social distancing. From Wednesday August 12, access to the beach will be reserved for residents of Lasne, La Hulpe and Rixensart.

The mayor specifies that the operation of the beach itself complies with the measures imposed to limit the spread of covid-19. It is not adequate to close the place, but a solution had to be found to limit attendance. The decree which was taken by the burgomaster of Lasne was made after consultation with the governor of Walloon Brabant and the Aviq services. “It is decided that from August 12, access to the beach will be prohibited to any person whose identity cards have not been issued in the municipalities corresponding to the Mazerine police zone – namely the municipalities of Lasne, La Hulpe and Rixensart, -or who does not usually reside there when staying in a second home located in one of these three municipalities Anyone wishing to access the beach must provide proof of his place of residence or second residence, “said a statement from the town of Lasne.
