Doctors, patients and pharmaceutical companies are on the front line against the revision of the Health Insurance Ordinance (OAMal) implemented by Federal Councilor Alain Berset. In a letter to the Federal Office of Public Health (OFSP), 21 health organizations – including the pharmaceutical lobby Interpharma, the Federation of Medical Doctors FMH, Childhood Cancer in Switzerland and the Federation of Hospitals – denounce a reform that they believe would lead to unequal treatment and uncomfortable situations, reports the NZZ on Sunday. “Patients suffering from serious illnesses would find it increasingly difficult to access the innovative therapies they urgently need,” note the signatories, whose union is rare enough to be stressed.
