Access test still free | Inland

With the introduction of the access test, the government wants to make it possible to advance steps in the opening plan. For example, the catering industry does not open for eating out until step 3. This could already be done in step 2 if people have an access test in their pocket.

People can get such an admission ticket at a special test location. The cabinet would pay for the costs until June. From July it should cost a maximum of 7.50 euros. A majority of the House is of the opinion that this is not possible.

‘Dichotomy in society’

D66 Member of Parliament Paternotte and CU Member of Parliament Bikker therefore propose in a debate on Thursday to abolish their own contribution. They fear a dichotomy in society. “This risk exists when parts of public life are only accessible to people who can afford a rapid test,” the duo stated in a proposal.

PVV MP Agema comes with a similar proposal: “It is undesirable because it creates a barrier for people with a lower income. Just a cup of coffee with apple pie is then not an option and a visit to the cinema quickly becomes 30 percent more expensive. ”

Vaccination certificate

Another wish of the House has already been fulfilled on Tuesday evening by outgoing minister Hugo de Jonge (Public Health). Dutch people who have already been fully vaccinated will soon be able to go to events early with a vaccination certificate.

A special app has already been made for the telephone for the test certificate. Early next month, the cabinet will take a decision on the introduction of the vaccination certificate.

Making test certificates possible has now met with political delay. Initially, a debate was planned to take place last week, but the House was very critical and wanted more preparation time.

New eases

After politicians have decided, the question is still when the Dutch can use test certificates. That depends on the corona situation. The cabinet would like to start with this in the next step of the opening plan. That step has now been postponed for a week. This weekend, the cabinet will examine whether new relaxation is possible.
