“Access Ramp Closure Causes Confusion and Detour for Motorists”

“The closure of the ramp is linked to the replacement and modernization of lighting as part of the Lumières 4.0 Plan”specifies the spokesperson for Sofico, manager of the highways.

This closure is announced until May 5 inclusive; on the other hand, it only seems to apply during construction hours. The access ramp is reopened at other times.

A lack of signage… a detour of about thirty kilometers

A diversion, rather poorly indicated, is set up via exit “34 – Tournai Ouest”, inviting motorists to cross the industrial zone before joining the Chaussée de Lille.

We can also deplore the lack of information and signage upstream of the exit. Only a small sign, very invisible (and you need a good view to read its content!), has been placed near the motorway rest area.

Many motorists find themselves faced with a closed exit. They are therefore obliged to continue their journey to France, in the direction of Lille and the “Villeneuve d’Ascq – 4 cantons” exit, with a detour of around thirty kilometers…
