The opinions also include measures such as implementing special incentives for basic education talents, promoting the open sharing of social educational resources, promoting open cooperation in education, and promoting the integrated development of industry and education. The relevant person in charge of the Lingang New Area Management Committee said that the implementation of the opinions will provide support and guarantee for the development of education in the Lingang New Area, and strive to build the Lingang New Area into a knowledge, innovation and education highland.
Recently, the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission also signed a strategic agreement with Lingang New Area to jointly build a pioneer zone for education reform and opening up; the Lingang New Area Management Committee signed a cooperation agreement with Yew Chung Yao Wah Educational Institution to jointly build the Shanghai Lingang Yew Chung International School for Children of Foreign Students (Preparation) Agreement, signed with Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tongji University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and Shanghai Conservatory of Music to cooperate in building basic education schools.
In the four years since its inauguration, Lingang New Area has adhered to the priority development of education, strived to introduce high-quality basic education resources, explored and promoted innovation in educational governance, and accelerated the construction of high-quality modern education. Currently, there are 63 primary and secondary schools (including campuses) in the main urban area of Lingang New Area and 1 Lingang school site of the International School of Shanghai High School, and the construction of 28 education projects under construction is being accelerated. The group-run school operation rate in the compulsory education stage and preschool education stage reaches 100%. In September this year, three new basic education schools were opened from a high starting point, including the high school section of Shangzhong Middle School and the Lingang Fengxian Branch of the Second Affiliated Middle School of East China Normal University.
