Under contract with AC Milan until June 2024, Olivier Giroud is not sure of continuing the adventure within the Lombard club, which is actively looking for a successor and which has had its eye on Sehrou Guirassy.
The Olivier Giroud case is difficult to decide for AC Milan. The French international is still a starter in Stefano Pioli’s mind but given his age, it is likely that the Lombard club will not extend the contract of the former Chelsea player, which expires next June. The decision is difficult to make and an element of risk exists because there is no guarantee for AC Milan that it will manage to find an attacker as reliable as the French international. One of the targets favored by the Italian staff is Sehrou Guirassy, who is having a breathtaking season under the colors of Stuttgart in his first year in the Bundesliga. In the space of 14 Bundesliga matches, the former Amiens and Rennes striker has scored 17 goals, crazy figures which logically make him an extremely coveted striker.
Sehrou Guirassy and his agents intend to take advantage of this hype around the Guinean since the Pianeta Milan site reveals that Guirassy is demanding an XXL salary from AC Milan to sign at San Siro next summer. The player’s entourage has already warned the Lombard club that it would be necessary to match a salary estimated at 4 million euros per year. A request directly rejected by AC Milan, in the middle of negotiations for the extension of Mike Maignan’s contract after having tied up that of Rafael Leao and which does not intend to pay such a salary for its future striker. The Sehrou Guirassy track risks closing definitively because at the same time, the player is attracting English clubs. Newcastle are among the clubs interested and the Magpies will have no trouble aligning with the player’s demands. Suffice it to say that for AC Milan, we will have to quickly find a plan B.
