AC Milan Victorious in First Leg Quarterfinal Match Against Napoli in Champions League

AC Milan faced with Napoli in the first leg of the quarterfinals Liga Champions. The Rossoneri finished with a 1-0 win.

AC Milan vs Napoli presented at the San Siro, Thursday (13/4/2023) in the morning WIB. The hosts won through a single goal by Isamel Bennacer.

Napoli are actually more dominant in this match. The Partenopei had 53 percent possession with 16 attempts and six that were on target.

Milan recorded 47 ball possession. The host’s attempts totaled 12 with two on goal and one on the bar.

Course of the Match

Napoli immediately got a golden opportunity in the first minute. Milan made a communication error in the goalmouth, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia failed to take advantage after his shot was blocked by the opposing defender.

A minute later Napoli threatened Milan again. This time, Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa’s shot was saved by Mike Maignan.

Milan almost enlarge the advantage in injury time. Simon Kjaer managed to welcome the ball from a corner with a header, but it still hit the crossbar and the score did not change until halftime.

Napoli almost equalized the score when the second half has been running for five minutes. A header from Eljif Elmas can still be pushed off the field by Maignan.

The Partenopei still couldn’t find the net for Milan until the game had run for an hour. Luciano Spalletti’s men have so far struggled to get into the opponent’s penalty box in the second half.

Napoli suffered a loss in the 74th minute. Anguissa was rewarded with a second yellow card after violating Theo Hernandez. Got his first yellow card four minutes earlier for fouling the same player.

Milan was really able to make Napoli not bite in the second half. Until the match was over, no goals were created, which made Milan close with a 1-0 victory.
