“Tomorrow (Sunday) evening after the last game of the season… AC Milan will say goodbye to Zlatan Ibrahimovic after a brief ceremony,” the Milan club wrote in a statement.
“AC Milan would like to thank Zlatan for the wonderful times we spent together,” the club continues.
It is unclear whether or not the Swede is going to retire. But according to several Italian media, “Ibra” could join the Monza club (D1) next season and thus find its former president in Milan, Silvio Berlusconi.
Ibrahimovic returned to Milan in 2019 and was crowned Italian champion last season after a maiden title with Milan in 2011.
But due to repeated injuries, he was practically unable to play this season. He returned to competition in February after having surgery on his left knee in May 2022.
The Swede has started just one game this season, in March when they won 1-3 at Udinese. He then became the oldest goalscorer in Serie A history. He then injured a calf during a pre-match warm-up in April, and did not play again.
Also passed by Ajax Amsterdam, Juventus, Inter Milan, FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United, he has many league titles to his credit: two in the Netherlands, five in Italy ( three with Inter, two with Milan), one in Spain and four in France. Between his time at Manchester United and his return to Milan, he wore the colors of the Los Angeles Galaxy from March 2018 to November 2019.
