TRIBUNJOGJA.COM – Sandro Tonali revealed that he turned down a higher contract offer to return to AC Milan.
In addition, the former Brescia midfielder also confirmed that he received a pay cut to wear the shirt Rossoneri again.
The 21-year-old has joined AC Milan on a €10 million loan with an option to buy from Brescia in 2020.
And Rossoneri should pay €15 million plus €10 million in bonuses to complete the player’s move permanently to Milan.
However, the economic problems caused by the COVID pandemic forced AC Milan to negotiate a lesser deal.
Finally, the Serie A giants managed to secure player services for €7 million plus an additional €3 million.
Tonali also helped facilitate the deal, by accepting a pay cut to become a permanent player for the Red-Black club.
“My desire to stay in AC Milan comes before anything else,” the former Brescia player told The Gazzetta dello Sport, quoted Tribune Jogja from Football Italia.
“The terms of the agreement between AC Milan and Brescia have ended, so we started from scratch and for me, it was important to make the step towards Milan.
“I’ve actually received higher offers from other clubs, but I’m happy at AC Milan.
