AC Milan announced on Wednesday afternoon the signing of a new central midfielder, Tijjani Reijnders.
AC Milan, after a successful last season, in which they reached the semi-finals of the Champions League, do not intend to give up. In the next games, Stefano Pioli’s players will want to mark their presence not only in Europe, but also in the country. The goal, of course, is to take away the Italian championship from Napoli.
For this reason, the transfer offensive of the San Siro team is underway. Luka Romero, Marco Sportiello Christian Pulisic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek had already joined the team, and now Tijjani Reijnders has shared their fate.
The 24-year-old has had a successful spell at AZ Alkmaar. Therefore, he caught the attention of stronger teams, and Milan showed the greatest determination.
The central midfielder is moving to the Champions League semi-finalists in a permanent transfer. He initialed the contract until June 30, 2028.
Reijnders’ previous employer earned him €20m, making him the second most expensive player in the club’s history. The first place in this classification belongs to Vincent Janssen. For him, Tottenham paid 22 million euros at one time.
The midfielder, on the other hand, played 54 games in the season, in which he had seven goals and 12 assists.
The Dutchman will have the opportunity to make his debut on Thursday. On that day Milan will play sparring with Lumezzane.
