Playing at the San Siro, AC Milan immediately stepped on the gas from the start of the match. Stefano Pioli’s men tried to get a quick goal in this match.
But unlucky, just 11 minutes they had to lose Rafael Leao. Milan’s mainstay winger was injured so he had to be replaced by Alexis Saelemaekers.
After making a number of attempts, Milan finally scored in the 19th minute. Starting from Olivier Giroud, who gave a short pass in the penalty box, the ball was struck by Bennacer with his volley and entered Lazio’s goal. The score changed to 1-0 in favor of Milan.
This goal made Milan more confident. Stefano Pioli’s men continued to bombard Lazio’s goal with their attacks.
Nine minutes later, Milan managed to double the advantage to 2-0. This time, Theo Hernandez dribbled the ball from the Milan penalty area to the Lazio penalty box, then he fired a shot at Lazio’s goal which Provedel failed to clear. Milan won 2-0 over the visitors.
In the remainder of this first half, Milan tried to add to the lead but the score lasted 2-0 until the referee blew the whistle signaling the end of the first half.

At halftime, Pioli decided to make two substitutions. Simon Kjaer and Davide Calabria were withdrawn and replaced by Piere Kalulu and Malick Thiaw.
In the second half, the game didn’t change much. Milan is still threatening Lazio’s goal, while the visitors are having trouble developing their game.
The first dangerous opportunity in the first half was born from Malick Thiaw’s header in the 65th minute. But unfortunately his header was still bouncing over Lazio’s goal.
The San Siro crowd cheered in the 83rd minute when substitute Ante Rebic broke into Lazio’s goal. But unfortunately this goal was disallowed by the referee because the attacker was in an offside position earlier.
The buying and selling of attacks continued, but the score remained 2-0 until the referee blew the whistle signaling the end of the game.
