The transfer fee was not disclosed but Italian media reported that Milan will pay around €25 million for the 25-year-old, including bonuses.

The 2022 World Cup runner-up has made 21 appearances for France, scoring three goals, and has also reportedly been a target for West Ham United and Manchester United.
Milan have already signed striker Alvaro Morata and defenders Emerson Royal and Strahinja Pavlovic as they prepare to kick off the new Serie A season. The Rossoneri will play at home to Torino in their first matchday.
“These four signings were the target even before the coach was chosen,” explained Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a close associate of Milan owner Gerry Cardinale.
The Swede said of Fofana: “We were looking for a midfielder who would keep the team in balance. He is a complete player who can play in the playmaking and score goals. It was one of the longest negotiations, but what matters now is that he is here. The team is complete, we are very happy and I welcome him to Milan.”
AC Milan announced in June that Paulo Fonseca will be the club’s new head coach from the 2024/25 season.
