French footballer Olivier Giroud has officially become an AC Milan player. The Italian club announced it on Saturday. The 34-year-old striker underwent a medical examination on Friday, the details of the transfer from FC Chelsea and the length of the contract were not disclosed.
“We are excited to announce the arrival of Olivier Giroud. He will be number nine on our team,” AFP quoted the Milanese as saying.
Giroud has worked in Chelsea for the past three years, playing a total of 119 matches and scoring 39 goals. Prior to that, he wore the Arsenal jersey for six seasons and achieved 105 hits in 253 duels.
“Many thanks to all Chelsea fans, teammates and coaches. Now I’m happy to start a new journey,” declared the world champion of 2018 and the winner of last year’s Champions League.
