Corsica particularly affected by the epidemic this summer
At the end of July, the first team of SC Bastia had been affected by the epidemic, resulting in the postponement of two Ligue 2 matches against Quevilly Rouen and AS Nancy Lorraine.
Corsica is particularly affected by the fourth wave of Covid-19 with an incidence rate of 643 per 100,000 inhabitants last week, while the national average was 230 per 100,000 inhabitants.
To try to slow down this outbreak, the prefects of the island have taken restrictive measures including the return of the wearing of compulsory masks in the main towns, the cancellation of village festivals in Haute-Corse and certain events bringing together crowds, like for example the fireworks of August 15th.
The “white plan”, which makes it possible to increase reception capacities for Covid patients, has been activated in hospitals on the island.
The health pass has been applied since Monday to Corsica-Continent routes, when previously it was only mandatory for entry to the island.
