/ world today news/ On the day of the liberation of Plovdiv from Turkish slavery, ABV, as part of the “LEFT!”, declared a firm position against the brutal attempts to replace history and the destruction of the Alyosha monument.
In front of the media in Plovdiv, the deputy chairman of the party and chairman of the Rodopi Municipal Council, Vladimir Marinov, emphasized that destroying the memory of our history will not help us escape from it. Regardless of political differences in general, he defined the position of Plovdiv Mayor Kostadin Dimitrov on the local urges to demolish Alyosha as worthy and added that such a request sounds honest and fair.

The chairman of ABV Rumen Petkov defined the series of attacks on monuments in our country, which mark the victory over fascism, as a crime under the law – crimes favored by Prime Minister Denkov. As an example of the strongly anti-Bulgarian policy of the cabinet, Petkov also pointed to the analysis of “Free Europe”, where the recommendation is to remove the poem “I am Bulgarian” from educational programs so that immigrants in Bulgaria can integrate better.
„They want to remove “I am Bulgarian” from the textbook, I don’t know why SEM is silent? A more gross encroachment on our history has not been made by an officially legalized foreign media. Ivan Vazov wrote “My Songs” about such nothingness – moral, historical, human. They’re not just trying to rewrite history, it’s ossifying our society.”
An example of national betrayal, as well as a war crime, was given by Rumen Petkov with the actions of the Minister of Defense Tagarev, who in recent days reported to the transatlantic partners – a state visit devoid of content.
Petkov again stated the categorical position of “THE LEFT!” for the need for new parliamentary elections.
