Three puppies that were allegedly mistreated by their owner were rescued from a home in the municipality of Pachuca by elements of the Attorney General’s Office of Hidalgo.
The rescue took place in a house in the Valles de Pachuca neighborhood, after a video on social media recorded the moment when a man hit a dog with a rope. Rottweiler while she was lying down.
According to the recording, the dog had been beaten with chains and shovels for several months due to its alleged aggressiveness.

After the video was released, the authorities, with the support of a rescuer, rescued the three dogs and later transferred to the Hopeful shelter.

Local media reports say the dogs were given a medical evaluation to add evidence to the investigation, adding that investigations are continuing to determine who is responsible.

The Hidalgo Public Security Secretariat He pointed out that animal abuse is a crime and abandoning pets “an irresponsible act that leaves animals defenseless and alone, facing hunger, disease and uncontrolled reproduction.”
Therefore, he asked the public to report any acts of animal abuse anonymously by calling 089.

In addition, persons who commit acts of mistreatment, cruelty or abandonment against domestic or feral animals could receive a penalty of six months to two years in prison and a fine of 25 to 50 Units of Measurement and Update.
If the injuries cause the death of the animal, a prison sentence of one to four years and a fine of 50 to 200 Measurement and Update Units will be imposed.
