This is one of the reasons why delegation leader Sophie in ‘t Veld and Rafaela each go their own way, sources confirm reporting from NRC.
from the party
Three former employees of 33-year-old Rafaela have gone to the integrity committee of D66, NRC concludes from confidential documents. They upheld their complaints. Rafaela would not agree with the conclusions and threatens to leave the party, according to the newspaper.

Tomorrow, when D66 talks to members about its handling of affairs such as the #MeToo case involving party prominent Van Drimmelen, the issue that has so far been kept private would also be discussed.
No collaboration
Rafaela’s troubled relationship with some of her employees has also driven a wedge between her and In ‘t Veld, insiders say. Sophie in ‘t Veld still helped Rafaela to get preferential votes in the European Parliament in 2019, but the two then hardly lived together.
Rafaela has now officially terminated the collaboration. As a result, for example, the two can no longer share staff and an employee had to leave.

Response D66
In a response to RTL Nieuws, D66 stated that it values a safe, pleasant and equal working atmosphere. “That also means that members and employees must be able and dare to hold each other accountable for unacceptable behaviour. Where necessary, the board takes the initiative to come to a solution, as has happened several times with the European delegation.”
The party says that people who feel unsafe or not heard can report to the D66 Integrity Investigations Committee. “It conducts research and advises the National Board on a possible solution. The National Board then decides which measures are appropriate.”
They also emphasize that the work of the committee is emphatically internal and solution-oriented. “We therefore take it very seriously that the report, or parts of it, have been shared with the editors of NRC.”
