In the period 2009-2013, two Russian citizens – employees of “Lukoil” – received Bulgarian passports under the pretext of “developing Bulgarian basketball”.
This is what the People’s Representative from PP-DB Kristina Petkova told BNT.
For these two Russian citizens, there is no information in the public space that they have any contact with basketball or with sports in general, explained Petkova.
According to the information available to her, one Russian citizen was a proxy in “Lukoil”, and the other – also left the Lukoil companies, and subsequently “became a member of the Board of Directors of the trading company Petrol AD”.
A provision that Bulgaria should use for development purposes – in sports, in culture, in science, in technology, was used as a screen for acquiring Bulgarian citizenship, noted Kristina Petkova.
