ABU DHABI, 31st October / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council carried out inspections on 95,922 products to verify their conformity with specifications, issued 2,437 certificates of conformity for individual services and 105 “measurement” calibration certificates, and completed 97,604 laboratory tests, according to the council’s operational sector performance report for the quarter. According to the Council’s operational sector performance report during the third quarter of 2023, the Central Testing Laboratory completed more than 97,000 laboratory tests during the period from July to September 2023 in the various fields of tests it provides, which include the fields of food, liquids, water, medicines, medical equipment, building and construction materials, transformer oils, environment, and agriculture. And cosmetics.
The laboratory carried out 58,878 laboratory tests for water, while it carried out 27,24 laboratory tests for food and liquids, in addition to 290 tests for medicines and medical equipment, 1,572 tests for building and construction materials, 1,298 tests for electrical transformer oils, 8,130 environmental tests, 170 agricultural tests, 137 cosmetics tests, 91 general tests, and 14 Technical consultation.
In turn, the Council’s Markets and Consumer Services Sector implemented, during the third quarter of this year, 95,922 products to verify their conformity with specifications, including 90,000 products during field inspection and 5,922 during inspection via electronic platforms, while 11,000 legal measuring tools and 1,087 products from pre-packaged packages that were verified were verified. Verified during the same period.
The Markets and Consumer Services Sector withdrew 16 products from the markets for not conforming to the required specifications and standards, including 1,288 goods, and 31 products were corrected, including 15,491 goods, and 3 of the products were withdrawn globally and were found in the country’s markets.
For its part, the Emirates Institute of Metrology, affiliated with the Council, issued 105 “measurement” calibration certificates during the third quarter of this year, conducted 37 standard comparisons for measuring devices, implemented a training program, issued 3 training certificates, provided two advisory services, and issued two advisory reports.
The Council’s third quarter 2023 report showed that the Conformity and Specifications Services Sector issued 2,437 certificates of conformity for individual services and renewed 2,157 other certificates, while 21 product registration certificates and 168 product conformity certificates were issued and 91 other certificates were renewed, in addition to issuing 10 licenses using the trust mark and renewing 23 other licenses.
His Excellency Dr. Hilal Humaid Al Kaabi, Secretary General of the Council, stressed the keenness to provide all the Council’s services within the integrated electronic services system “Tamm” and work to improve and develop them in a way that contributes to reducing time and cost, in addition to expanding the scope of services to meet the needs of partners and involving the private sector in delegation and partnership processes. concluded to cover it in a way that achieves added value in providing the service.
He pointed out that the Council seeks to continue developing and improving the services provided through implementing a number of qualitative measurement indicators, which in turn contribute to maintaining the quality of the products offered in the markets and the materials and devices used in the various work sectors.
