Yesterday morning, the Abu Dhabi Powerboat Team delegation headed to the city of “Peso da Regua” in Portugal, in preparation for participating in the third round of the Formula 2 World Boat Championship.
The mission is headed by Nasser Al Dhaheri, in addition to the contestants Rashid Al Qamzi, Mansour Al Mansouri, and the team’s technical staff.
The team’s participation in this round begins with the technical inspection and official registration for the race tomorrow, followed by the start of the speed race and the best time on Saturday, before moving on to the main and final race next Sunday.
The competitions will later move to the fourth and final round of the tournament next weekend in the city of Vila Velha, also in Portugal.
The Abu Dhabi team enters this round with the Abu Dhabi 35 boat, led by Rashid Al Qamzi, topping the overall standings of the tournament with 40 points, which is the full score for the first and second rounds.
The Abu Dhabi team is looking forward to regaining the championship title, which it last won in 2021, and is participating in this tour, in addition to the Al Qamzi boat, the Abu Dhabi 36 boat led by Mansour Al Mansouri.
Al Qamzi previously won the championship title three times on his boat in the 2017, 2019 and 2021 seasons, and also won first place in the first and second rounds in Lithuania and Italy, while Al Mansouri finished seventh.
