The Abu Dhabi Police Ju-Jitsu team ranked third in the general classification at the World Ju-Jitsu Championship, which was held in the Belgian capital, Brussels, and won 9 medals (2 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze).
Brigadier General Essam Abdullah Al Ali, Director of the Police Sports Education Center and head of the delegation, explained that the tournament organized by the Abu Dhabi Ju-Jitsu Association “AJP” in Brussels is the first international participation of Abu Dhabi Police, in competition with the world champions of Ju-Jitsu, pointing out that the team showed an outstanding level of participation. In competitions with professional ju-jitsu athletes.
He stated that the tournament attracted the participation of a number of top ranked players in the world, especially those with black and brown belts, as well as hundreds of players from various clubs and academies in the categories of juniors, youth, amateurs, professionals and professors.
He pointed out that the tournament represents an important opportunity to enhance the classification of the participating players from the General Command of Abu Dhabi Police and raise their readiness to participate in the upcoming international tournaments, such as the Grand Slam and the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship.
He stressed the Abu Dhabi Police’s interest in achieving the vision and support of the wise leadership in strengthening Abu Dhabi’s position as a home for ju-jitsu, and a preferred destination for elite champions in sports and those wishing to continuously develop and enrich their balance of outstanding achievements in order to enhance the classification of the Abu Dhabi Police Ju-Jitsu Academy.
