ABU DHABI, 21st May / WAM / The Victims’ Affairs Office of the Crisis and Disaster Management Department of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters implemented 5 specialized courses for the Disaster Victims Identification System, with the participation of 71 affiliates of specialized experts from the specialized units of Abu Dhabi Police and a number of affiliates of strategic partners from the Ministry of Defense and the Dubai Police General Command. Major General Ahmed Saif bin Zaitoun Al Muhairi, Director of the Central Operations Sector at Abu Dhabi Police, stressed the importance of the courses in exchanging experiences and communication between strategic partners and specialists to build a knowledge system that contributes to increasing the effectiveness of cooperation and joint coordination to spread the culture of managing disaster victims’ affairs.
During the courses, the concept of the disaster identification system and all its stages, the technical and coordination procedures in force, and the identification of unidentified bodies during disasters were introduced in accordance with the protocol and standard of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) and the team’s organized response mechanism. Table exercises were also implemented to apply the concepts of the system to provide associates with skills. necessary.
Brigadier General Ahmed Nasser Al Kindi, Director of Crisis and Disaster Management and Head of the Disaster Victim Identification Team at Abu Dhabi Police, pointed out the importance of spreading the culture of the system, developing technical capabilities and police skills in the field of crisis and disaster management, according to the highest international standards, and raising the level of readiness in dealing with various emergency situations.
