The Abu Dhabi Poetry Festival, whose activities were launched last Thursday at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC), offers programs and activities for young people that carry educational messages to connect new generations with their heritage, and instill in their minds all that is beautiful and noble in terms of values and vocabulary that enhance their belonging to the homeland.
The festival, which is organized by the Cultural and Heritage Festivals and Programs Management Committee in Abu Dhabi, in cooperation with the Emirates Heritage Club, allocated a space called “Children’s Oasis” for children, characterized by an educational and entertaining framework, and includes activities for future generations.
The head of the teaching unit at the Poetry Academy, Zulekha Muhammad, said that the activities directed at children were carefully chosen to suit all ages and groups, and in interesting artistic ways and means, embodying popular heritage, which contributes to motivating them to learn and create, highlighting their artistic talents, educating new generations about the heritage of their fathers and grandfathers, and consolidating Value in their souls.
For her part, the head of the Women’s Activities Department at the Emirates Heritage Club, Fatima Al Tamimi, confirmed that the festival had enjoyed, from its first day, a distinguished presence of school children, as they were taken on an introductory tour of the various pavilions and platforms of the festival, and the activities, events and performances it contained, with the aim of introducing them to our heritage. The popular heritage, our ancient heritage, and its consolidation in the souls of today’s generations, so that they remain in constant contact with their past and authenticity, and continuous knowledge of the history of their fathers and grandfathers.
