The Federal National Council held the nineteenth meeting of the Parliamentary Coordination Committee and Foreign Relations of the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council, which was held in Abu Dhabi at the Emirates Palace, yesterday, under the chairmanship of Dr. Maryam Obeid Al-Badwawi, member of the Council. the Federal National Council and the chairman of the meeting, with the participation of representatives from the legislative councils of the Gulf, and Councilor Sultan Bin Nasser Al-Suwaidi, Deputy Secretary General for Legislative and Legal Affairs in the General Secretariat of the Council of States.

Dr. Maryam Al-Badwawi said: “Our meeting comes at a time when the region is seeing urgent challenges that threaten aspects of the security of the Gulf in all directions, and we looking forward to the meeting achieving their desired goal of strengthening coordination ties. and understanding between the legislative councils of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.”

The Committee approved the draft agenda for the eighteenth regular meeting of heads of Shura, Representatives, National and Indigenous Councils of the GCC states, which will be held tomorrow, and approved the recommendations of the conference “Diversity Cultural and Change Challenges. : The Role of the Legislative Councils of the Gulf in Preserving the Identity of the Gulf,” and adopted three themes under the common themes of the Gulf Submitted to the Secretary General of the Cooperation Council States a ‘ Gulf from the Legislative Councils of the Gulf, on “Legislative Responsibility of the Gulf. Legislative Councils in Artificial Intelligence Management: Reality, Challenges, and Future Prospects,” on “Strengthening the Gulf’s Identity,” and on “The Economics of the Gulf Labor Market.”

The committee also agreed to the recommendations submitted by the last meeting of the European Gulf Parliamentary Committee, namely: raising the topics of the meeting with the members of the European Parliament to Their Highnesses the leaders the legislative councils of the Gulf, and assigning the General Secretariat. of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf – in coordination with the Presidency Council – to continue coordination and communication with the European side and recommend a date for the meeting.
