The judo team delegation returns, Friday, coming from Georgia, after the end of the preparation camp, in preparation for competing in the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Championship hosted by the Federation, as part of the activities of the three major world championships, from October 24 to next November 3, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al. Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and will witness the participation of 1,744 male and female players from 105 countries, before the registration period closes next Sunday, the date of the arrival of the participating teams in the main Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Judo Championship, and has so far included 475 male and female players from 83 countries, looking forward to the “Olympics.” Paris 2024.
The tournament regulations indicated the need to confirm the participation of countries upon their arrival and entry into the competition draw at the Mubadala Arena hall in Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi, October 23, in the presence of representatives of the UAE and international federations, while representatives of the participating teams follow the tournament draw at the Millennium Al Wahda Hotel, via video technology, and 155,000 euros were allocated as prizes. According to the regulations of the International Federation, which supervises the three tournaments, in addition to the in-kind and commemorative prizes.
The final list of our team includes two players, Bashirat Kharudi (under 52 kg), Patsu Altan (under 57 kg), and 10 players: Zayed Al Naqbi, Khaled Khamis (under 60 kg), Narmand Bayan (under 66 kg), and Saeed. Al-Naqbi, Abdul Karim Ali (weight under 73 kg), Talal Shafeli, Khalifa Al-Hosani (weight under 81 kg), Gregory Aram (weight under 90 kg), Dhafer Aram (weight under 100 kg), and Omar Marouf (weight over 100 kg).
The training of the Victor team is supervised, and the delegation during the tournament activities is headed by Nasser Al-Tamimi, Secretary General, member of the Board of Directors of the National Olympic Committee, and tournament director.
