Dubai, United Arab Emirates – The Abu Dhabi government concluded its participation in the GITEX Global Technology Exhibition 2023, the world’s largest event for technology and startups, which was held at the Dubai World Trade Center from October 16 to 20, 2023. The Abu Dhabi government pavilion announced the launch of 26 projects and initiatives. Innovative events during the exhibition, in addition to the signing of 52 agreements and memorandums of understanding with a wide range of the most important partners in the digital sector.
The Abu Dhabi Government Pavilion received more than 42,000 visitors and a number of dignitaries from the government and private sectors. The Abu Dhabi government focused its participation around five main axes: government services, government solutions, data and artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and digital empowerment. The pavilion also reviewed more than 110 projects and initiatives in several fields related to citizens, residents and business sectors in Abu Dhabi, including transportation, health care, social welfare, data security, health and safety, communications, crisis management, and others.
33 government agencies participated in Abu Dhabi to showcase their latest projects and initiatives at the Abu Dhabi Government Pavilion, including the General Administration of Abu Dhabi Customs, the General Headquarters of Abu Dhabi Police, the Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence, the Department of Municipalities and Transport, the Department of Government Empowerment and its Statistics Center – Abu Dhabi, and the Department of Economic Development – Abu Dhabi, Department of Energy – Abu Dhabi, Department of Community Development in Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Accounting Authority, Abu Dhabi Chamber, as well as the Advanced Technology Research Council, Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council, Abu Dhabi Investment Office, Family Development Foundation, Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, and the Authority Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety, Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority, and Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority.
The projects and initiatives presented to visitors to the pavilion included the latest version of the Abu Dhabi Unified Government Services Platform “Tamm,” in addition to the “Emergency Driver Alert System,” the “Artificial Intelligence Vehicle Inspection System,” and the third phase of the “Heat Map to Measure the Intensity of Water and Electricity Consumption with 3D Technologies.” “. The cybersecurity application “Falcon LLMs”, which adopts open source large linguistic models, the “Abu Dhabi Housing” application, the “Making Data Capabilities for the Public Good” project, and the launch of the second version of the “Analysis and Extrapolation Platform” were also presented.
His Excellency Ahmed Tamim Hisham Al-Kuttab, Chairman of the Department of Government Empowerment, stressed: “The participation of the Abu Dhabi government in the GITEX 2023 Global Technology Exhibition embodies its commitment to strengthening the emirate’s position to reach the forefront of innovation, in line with the vision of the UAE’s wise leadership, which aims to benefit from digital transformation to meet the needs of… Its citizens, residents and the business sector. The government agencies participating in the exhibition signed 52 agreements and memorandums of understanding with a group of technology companies and actors, as the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi strengthened its cooperative relations with the Integrated Transport Center, the Department of Health, and the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority.
At the same time, the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi strengthened its partnerships with Abu Dhabi University, M42 Company, Burjeel Holding, Abu Dhabi Health Data Services, and Microsoft Gulf. While the list of new partners for the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi included Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence and Amazon.
The Community Contributions Authority (Ma’an) also announced the signing of an agreement with Etisalat, while the Community Development Department signed a new partnership with Accenture. For its part, the General Administration of Abu Dhabi Customs signed partnership agreements with CargoX, the Emirates Media Council, the Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence, the Communications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority, and the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology.
On the other hand, the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council signed memorandums of understanding with the G42 Group, and both the Department of Energy – Abu Dhabi and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi strengthened their partnerships with New York University – Abu Dhabi and Microsoft.
The Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination signed a partnership agreement with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, while the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority signed a partnership agreement with the Ministry of Health and Community Protection. The Abu Dhabi Investment Office also signed agreements with PONY.AI, Star Charge, and NWTN.
Also during GITEX 2023, the Government Empowerment Department signed a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding with a number of companies, including Microsoft, RationalTech, Trend Micro, Intalio, ePAM, and Service Now, a subsidiary of the company. KPMG and “Chainsys”, while the “Tamm” platform signed agreements with the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security, “Salik”, “Du”, “Etisalat”, “Shouri”, “ADNOC City Gas”, and “Tencent”. On the other hand, the Statistics Center – Abu Dhabi signed memorandums of understanding with the Abu Dhabi Chamber, the Ministry of Education, the G42 Group, and IBM, in addition to BriSight Artificial Intelligence Solutions.
Among the other government agencies that participated in the GITEX International Technology Exhibition 2023 are the Department of Education and Knowledge – Abu Dhabi, the Judicial Department – Abu Dhabi, the Emirates College for Educational Development, the Center for Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, in addition to the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi, and the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority. The Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the global technology system in Abu Dhabi “Hub71”, and Khalifa University.
It is noteworthy that the Abu Dhabi government pavilion at the GITEX 2023 Global Technology Exhibition was under the leadership of the Department of Government Empowerment.
