Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language Holds Third Meeting: AI Initiatives and Arabic Language Curricula

The Scientific Committee of the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language held its third meeting of the current year, headed by Dr. Ali bin Tamim, President of the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language, and in the presence of members of the Scientific Committee, which includes Dr. Bilal Orfali, Dr. Khalil Al-Sheikh, Dr. Abdullah Al-Ghadhami, Dr. Ali Al-Kaabi, Dr. Vitaly Naumkin, and Dr. Mohsen Al-Moussawi, Dr. Muhammad Abu Al-Fadl Badran, Dr. Hanada Taha, and Dr. Wen-Xin Ouyang, with the participation of Saeed Al-Taniji, Executive Director of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center.
The meeting discussed the latest developments in the Center’s projects and initiatives, highlighting artificial intelligence initiatives and their role in serving the Arabic language, and the importance of continuing to study Arabic language curricula in schools and universities for Arabic speakers and non-native speakers. It witnessed the proposal of new scientific projects that will be added to the series of projects and programs in which the Abu Dhabi Language Center works. Arabic was included within its strategic plan for the year 2024, and concluded by discussing the terms of reference and roles of the Scientific Committee, and the executive plan for the centre’s future projects.
Dr. Ali bin Tamim confirmed that the third meeting of the Center’s Scientific Committee constituted a creative cultural brainstorming with the participation of an elite group of literary and academic figures, in an effort to enhance the status of the Arabic language and consolidate its presence at the local and global levels. He appreciated the role of the Scientific Committee in improving the work mechanism at the Center, and urged it to continue efforts. To enhance the Arabic language, especially since the great confidence placed by the Center in its scientific committee paves the way towards more qualitative projects and programs that support the achievement of future goals and strategies.
