Abu Dhabi, 8th September / WAM / The activities of the 20th session of the International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition “Abu Dhabi 2023” concluded this evening, Friday, which was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, President of the Emirates Falconers Club. “.
The exhibition lasted for 7 days and was organized by the Emirates Falconers Club under the slogan “Sustainability and Heritage… with a Renewed Spirit.” The largest event of its kind in the Middle East and Africa attracted more than 1,220 exhibitors and brands from 65 countries and extended over an area of about 65,000 square metres.
411 Emirati companies participated in the exhibition, a clear indication of the continued growth of national companies working in the field of hunting and heritage sports.
Its visitors enjoyed more than 200 exciting activities and events, during which they lived special moments by watching live and rare displays of falcons, horses and camels in the live performance arena, in addition to distinctive artistic and musical activities and performances that attracted visitors.
During the exhibition activities, the Emirates Falconers Club, in cooperation with the International Federation of Falconry and the Conservation of Birds of Prey, organized the conference “Sustainability of Falconry… Facing the Challenges of the Twenty-First Century” and the conference “The Role of the Media in Preserving Falconry and Intangible Cultural Heritage” with wide participation.
The new session was marked by great success for the auction of falcons bred in captivity, especially with the Profalkin Center in Al Ain offering 210 falcons to bid on.
The center is considered the first and largest project in the Middle East in terms of capabilities and quantity of production, and one of the largest falconry conservation projects in the world, and the best in terms of the quality of the falcons produced.
The “Sustainability Platform” was the ideal place that allowed official bodies, local and international companies, social institutions and community groups to meet with researchers, experts and students, to exchange knowledge, collaborate and establish important partnerships.
The exhibition organized more than 50 seminars, workshops and events that contributed to strengthening its message focusing on sustainability.
His Excellency Majid Ali Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition, Secretary General of the Emirates Falconers Club, confirmed that the unprecedented success achieved by the exhibition in its twentieth session at all levels came thanks to the support of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him.” Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, President of the Emirates Falconers Club, he stressed that the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition will continue to develop its plans, projects and content in the upcoming sessions.
His Excellency extended his thanks and appreciation to all participants in the exhibition from inside and outside the UAE, including companies, exhibitors, sponsors, supporters and partners, and to all media representatives, for all their role in achieving this distinction achieved by the twentieth session.
