An absolute temperature record was set in Moscow yesterday. Thermometers in the Russian capital read 21 degrees Celsius – the highest measured value in 140 years of meteorological observations when they began.
The unusually warm weather in April, typical of June in these latitudes, delighted Muscovites who threw away their winter clothes. The previous record for April 13 was set in 2008, when 20.4 degrees were recorded. Even warmer weather is expected today, with temperatures up to 22-23 degrees.
“Excellent, remarkable, wonderful! I like it very much – instead of winter, instead of snowdrifts, we have green grass, birds and sun. And instead of a coat you can walk in light clothes!” Said Moscow resident Ivan Pshenichny, quoted by Nova TV. .
While in our country for 14 districts a yellow code for dangerous weather has been announced. The warnings are for heavy rainfall in the southeast, and strong winds in the northwest. Against this background, the release of volumes from the dams, which are full or close to their capacity, continues, the Ministry of Environment and Water announced. Currently, the greatest efforts are focused on the smooth transfer of melted snow and ongoing rains through the dams.
