Absent Queen addresses climate summit, Prince Charl…

Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II hopes world leaders at the international climate summit (COP26) in Glasgow will unite and show ‘true statesmanship’. She stated this in a video message recorded a few days ago at Windsor Castle. She also complimented her eldest son and grandson for their climate activism: “I am very proud,” said the Queen.

The 95-year-old queen would have liked to have been present in Glasgow in person, but had to cancel the trip for medical reasons. That’s why she sent a video message. In it, she also paid tribute to her husband Prince Philip, who passed away in April and was a passionate climate activist.

The heir apparent, Prince Charles, is also known for his commitment to the climate. He was present in Glasgow on Monday at the start of the summit. As he walked onto the podium to deliver the opening speech of the conference, the prince briefly stumbled on the steps. However, he was able to recover quickly and pointed out to world leaders in his speech the crushing responsibility that rests on their shoulders.

Not everything went according to plan for US President Biden when he seemed to doze for a while in Glasgow:
