The Peruvian Sergio Peña is not a regular goalscorer for Malmö FF. During his 63 previous matches in the Malmö shirt, the midfielder has only been noted for two goals.
Now Peña headed in 1-0 at the first post on a right corner in the 64th minute.
Otherwise, Malmö had a hard time getting a break in Öster. The home team had a lot of the ball, but Öster also created a couple of dangerous situations in the first half.
– I think we should let loose a little more. It’s a bit stiff, said MFF striker Isaac Kiese Thelin at halftime to TV4 Play.
In the end, it was still a 2-0 victory in the opening game of the group stage. In added time, the new acquisition Jens Stryger Larsen – who, like the new Norwegian Erik Botheim, started – was able to add. Again it was a nick on the front face of a corner.

Hecken won the cup last year and now started with a 2-0 victory at home against the super-etana club Östersund.
Ali Youssef ran through on a deep ball on the right wing and elegantly chipped in Häcken’s lead when an outrushing Andrew Mills in the away goal came through seven minutes after the break. In the final stages, Abdulrazaq Ishaq was able to slot in 2-0 on a corner variant.
The Allsvenskan colleague The Bromma boys answered for the first cup goal of the year. In the 35th minute, Kevin Ackermann sent in the lead goal at home against Landskrona, who also play in the super league. In the second half, André Calisir and Eric Björkander sealed the victory at 3–0.
