About twenty professionals at the forum for the health option

This Friday, January 20 afternoon, in the very enclosure of the Jean Lurçat establishment, the health professions forum took place for students in the health option sector set up in the high school.

Showing all the interest shown in this operation, the sub-prefect Anne-Cécile Vialle, Vincent Labarthe for the Occitanie region, Raphaël Daubet, president of Cauvaldor, Thierry Chartroux, vice-president in charge of health, Monique Martignac, Rémi Poumeyrol headmaster of the school and the various associated protagonists, were present.

Thus, after the distribution of the T-shirts, there were about fifty students in the final and second years to be distributed in the various classrooms, where about twenty practitioners answered the questions and questions of the students. There were doctors, pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, midwives, nurses, physiotherapists, osteopaths, dentists, orthodontists, orthoptists, speech therapists, chiropodists, psychomotricians.

It should be remembered that this project was originally born in response to the concern generated by medical desertification, presented for several years as a challenge to be met. Raphaël Daubet, instigator of the project, recalled that the approach launched in January 2021 materialized in September 2021, with the opening of a health option, welcoming 21 final year students. Rémi Poumeyrol, principal of the establishment, relaying the project in the establishment declared in November: “The school establishment feeds on its territory, but must also serve this same territory and its populations”.

With the idea of ​​attracting more health professionals, Cauvaldor has also set up the Parcours M’aides system for medical students from their first year (pass), aid which varies from 800 to 5,000 € with in particular a scholarship for housing and transport costs from the second to the sixth year (provided that he completes his internship with a local doctor) or a commitment scholarship to the approved installation from the seventh to the ninth year, to make replacements or settle for at least six years. At the start of the 2022-2023 academic year, twelve contracts were signed with medical students.
