They had been arrested for importing ice creams hidden in oars, skipping ropes or Christmas tree balls from Hawaii. This network had about twenty members. Since Wednesday, they appear in court.

20 defendants have been appearing since Wednesday for ice trafficking before the Papeete Criminal Court.
The alleged leader of the network is a young entrepreneur from Bora Bora.
In a few months, thanks to mules, he would have managed to import from Hawaii about 5 kg of ice. He estimates the amount at 25 million cfp. Considering the quantities imported, justice estimates that this represents several hundreds of millions.
At the bar of the criminal court, all those who are accused of being involved have, unsurprisingly, tried to minimize their roles or have denied the facts, few have finally acknowledged their participation.
They face 10 years in prison.
