MUNAKOMPAS.com- Faisal (18) is a resident of Labulubulu Village, Parigi District, MunaSoutheast Sulawesi, pounced on crocodile on the river, Monday (28/2/2022) afternoon.

The head of the Kendari National SAR Agency, Aris Sofingi, said the incident occurred when the victim was watching the Melasti traditional ceremony carried out by residents.

Faisal saw a duck being released into the river so the victim took the initiative to swim to retrieve the duck.

“A resident who saw the victim swimming tried to warn him, but the victim didn’t listen and continued to swim in the end causing the victim to be pounced on,” said Aris via text message, Tuesday (1/3/2022).

The Muna SAR Alert Unit Rescue Team has been dispatched to the scene. one unit rubber boat involved in searching for victims.

Aris said the search for victims was carried out by walking along the river in Labulubulu Village from Monday afternoon until evening.

Until now, Tuesday, the Muna SAR Alert Unit Rescue Team is still searching for the victim.
