About the new Wizard and extension for Cyberpunk 2077

The CD Projekt published a financial report for the first quarter of 2022. We learned from it some information about the new Exorcist and the promised expansion for Cyberpunk 2077.

In the new Spellcaster developers have completed a search (research of appropriate technology, working procedures …) and entered the pre-production phase. This will be the first game in the new series, so the Project RED CD is already planning more than one new adventure in the famous fantasy world.

“We are happy to be able to return to a world that has been such an important part of our history. We recently completed the research phase of the first game of the new spell saga, “ said President Adam Kiciński.

That means the new Sorcerer is several years away. As we know, it arises in Unreal Engine 5. CD Projekt RED confirmed the title some time ago with a picture with a lynx medallion. My colleague Martin Cvrček wrote about him here.

Most of the development capacity of the RED Project CD is now focused on paid story extension for Cyberpunk 2077which is planned for next year. The Polish studio is scheduled to start the marketing campaign in the second half of this year. At best, it may begin in July, and worse in December.

The CD Project praises that next-gen version with big update 1.5 had a positive impact on the perception of the game and its sales, especially on consoles. The creators continue to work on improving Cyberpunk 2077, albeit on a much smaller team.

At the end of this year we can expect from the CD Project next-gen version of Sorcerer 3. The update will be free for existing PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X / S game owners.
