Biebelried’s mayor Roland Hoh has to look after a number of construction sites. On the one hand there are the new construction areas, on the other hand the redesign of Würzburger Strasse, the former federal road 8, is imminent.
Roland Hoh, who has his second term of office ahead of him, can now continue many projects that have already started and bring them to an end. However, seven out of twelve council members are newcomers to the board. Here he has to ensure that everyone comes to the same level of knowledge as quickly as possible.
The Würzburger Straße is far too wide for a normal town drive. The council has been concerned with the transformation many times and will continue to do so. After that, the former main thoroughfare through Biebelried will have a different face. The bus stops are relocated, green strips loosen up the picture. The crucifixion group is also included in the renovation package. Then the redesign of the main street is still waiting.
Since Biebelried is an attractive place to live in the district, but also in the catchment area of Würzburg, with its convenient location on Bundesstraße 8 and two motorways, building sites are in great demand. The building area Pförtlein in Kaltensondheim has been developed, now the development plan “Mainstockheimer Weg 3” in Biebelried is to follow. With the creation of the “Schelmsgraben” development plan in Biebelried directly on Würzburger Straße, the municipality wants to “meet the urgent need for residential building sites”, according to Mayor Roland Hoh. A building area with five lots is to be built in Westheim.

A new building area in Kaltensondheim, two new ones in Biebelried, one in Westheim. A mayor is allowed to think about the place in the kindergarten. According to Hoh, an extension of the existing one in Westheim fails on the property. The mayor could envision a second kindergarten location near the new Mainstockheimer Weg building area. “But these are my pipe dreams,” he adds quickly.
Hoh worries about the way from Westheim to Kaltensondheim. It leads over a road, the condition and course of which are worrying. “Expansion can be expected in 2021 at the earliest,” he explains.
Shaking your head about the Telekom
In Kaltensondheim, barrier-free access to the hall in the fire brigade building is a constant issue. The solution could be an elevator, says Hoh? inside or outside. The entrance area will have to be redone in a few years. An elevator could be implemented there. That would be the expensive solution. Another idea, in his opinion, would be access via the current emergency exit. A staircase could be created there, since the neighboring property to the tool shed already belongs to the municipality.
The school renovation in Kaltensondheim is finished. What is still missing is the fiber optic connection. “There is an empty pipe in it, the cable just needs to be blown in,” reports the mayor, while shaking his head. Because, according to Telekom, this will happen in 2021 at the earliest.
The cost estimate for the renovation of the simultaneous church will be available soon. The playgrounds are in very good condition. Play equipment is now being used again at the fire department in Biebelried. “Everything piece by piece,” says Hoh. Because the building yard also needs new equipment. Definitely a wheeled lawn mower. A tractor is also on the wish list, which will soon be presented to the local council.
