Vice-president of Com-com Bénévent-Le Grand-Bourg in charge of children and solidarity, Evelyne Chétif has assembled a steering committee to work on the Global Territorial Convention (CTG) and the Territorial Educational Project (PEdT) , two tools presented by the representatives of the State.
In pairs, agents from the Community of Communes and the State went to meet the participants to discuss three major themes. They were able to present their findings, needs and desires. The analysis of the feedback made it possible to identify five main themes.
The welcome offer. The current organization does not correspond to all needs, in particular on schedules, despite their amplitude. The reception of 0-3 year olds or the reception of 3 year olds in school is also a great concern for parents due to the lack of places. Mobility also prevents some young people from going to the poles despite the transport offer that Creuse always offers.
The network of the territory is also an important point. Whether for early childhood or teenagers, the observation is that the premises are too localized in one part of the territory. The development of roaming has been advanced to overcome this problem. The south of the territory is also very little, if at all, covered by actions. The development of a more global network is strongly requested.
The last point raised was the need for a resource person to help set up new structures and to strengthen the role of the Early Childhood Relay to stem the shortage of childminders.
Knowledge of the existing. One of the problems frequently mentioned is the lack of links between the actors and the lack of knowledge of the existing situation, which has consequences for the attractiveness of the territory.
Educational actions. There is a difficulty of access to culture and very few activities for children under 6 years old and none for 3 year olds. In addition, parents who can accompany their children to activities would like to have some for them at the same time.
A few ideas for action emerged: help with homework, support for young people, discovery of the local environment (cultural, environmental, etc.).
The idea behind all this would be to work on larger projects to allow everyone to integrate. In addition, mobility and activity schedules are a hindrance for some families. A pick-up idea was brought up.
Parenting support. Two issues are highlighted: the absence of places for discussion and the absence of a trained professional to answer questions or organize parenting actions. The feeling is that parents find themselves alone before, during and after pregnancy.
Educational commitment. It has been observed that it is increasingly difficult to mobilize residents or find volunteers. Associations are taken as services.
