“It’s the second time I’m receiving this award. And I would like to share this award with all Brazilian football coaches. It’s very easy to see why. It’s very hard to be a coach here. It’s pleasurable, yes, but it’s very difficult. I have as much merit in the title I won as, for example, Rogério Ceni did in saving himself (from relegation with Bahia) in the last game. The dimension of achievement and joy are exactly the same. It’s a different title”, he said Abel on stage.

Abel seemed enchanted by some attractions prepared by ESPN, such as choreography by dancers, the use of artificial intelligence that interacted with the event’s presenters, and was entertained by the performances by actor Lázaro Ramos and singer Péricles.
He laughed a lot, especially when Lázaro talked to “Big Data”, a ball placed in the center of the stage, and said that her explanation for a “mathematical formula” that would define the most beautiful goals was “as confusing as drawing the line of VAR”.
For those who were in that part of the studio, the presence of Abel Ferreira was an attraction in itself, as the award-winning athletes were in a more distant place in the audience. “Bola de Prata ESPN” had more of a show feel, in a format that combined football with entertainment. At least there, live, it was very interesting and dynamic, without too much fuss between categories and without a “growly” face.
