International Writing, Jul 14 (EFE) .- Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe did not authorize ivermectin against the coronavirus nor did he reject anticovid vaccination, as stated by Internet users who maintain that he was assassinated for being the “main enemy” of “business pharmaceutical billionaires” and, specifically, Pfizer.

After the assassination of the former president of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (PLD) while he was delivering a campaign speech in the Japanese city of Nara on the 8th, numerous users on Twitter and Facebook assured that his death was due to the fact that he had confronted ” the bosses of globalism” by “authorizing” ivermectin as a “real cure” against covid-19.

These profiles ensure that the introduction of ivermectin in Japan as an “effective” treatment against the coronavirus began in August 2021 and its “authorization” to administer it to patients with covid had been previously announced by Abe, as an informative appearance published by him would show. Spanish through the website of the Japanese embassy in Colombia.

In this way, the viral publications add, the authorization of ivermectin “would close the doors in Japan to a future purchase of vaccines from the pharmaceutical company Pfizer”, which would suffer “millionaire losses” as a consequence. And that would be the reason that would explain his murder.

FACTS: In reality, the assassinated ruler was not an anti-vaccine and ivermectin was not authorized in Japan as a treatment against coronavirus either during Abe’s term or after, while the Japanese did receive anti-covid vaccines from Pfizer since the start of the campaign of immunization, with more than 200 million doses administered so far.

ABE’S MURDER HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH VACCINATION

Although the investigation into the murder and its motivations is still open, the alleged murderer, Tetsuya Yamagami, confessed to the police that he had decided to attack Abe because of the former president’s alleged relationship with the Unification Church, a controversial religious faith born in South Korea.

The detainee, a 41-year-old former member of the Maritime Self-Defense Forces, stated that Abe had a close relationship with this religious group, which the alleged murderer hated and accused of having ruined his family.

According to the evidence collected, Yamagami began planning his attack on Abe last fall, after seeing a video message from the former prime minister for an organization affiliated with this church in September, and went the day before the attack to one of the facilities of that group in Nara to practice with the weapon. In fact, the Police found remains of ammunition there on Tuesday.

In any case, nothing in the crime investigation indicates that the detainee shot Abe for any reason related to vaccination or covid treatments.

JAPAN DID NOT AUTHORIZE IVERMECTIN FOR COVID

Regarding ivermectin, Japan never authorized this antiviral to treat the coronavirus and did not administer it to covid patients either, because the health authorities decreed that it was not effective against the infection. It did authorize remdesivir instead, as confirmed by documents from the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA) in 2020.

Contrary to what the messages spread on the internet assure, Abe did not announce that he authorized ivermectin in the informative appearance of May 14, 2020, the text of which was published by the Japanese embassy in Colombia.

On the contrary, the then prime minister specified that both ivermectin and three other drugs (avigan, futhan and actemra) still had to “confirm their effectiveness” before seeking pharmacological approval, unlike the antiviral remdesivir, which was already authorized for treatment of severe covid patients and was being administered.

Ivermectin did not ultimately prove to be effective in treating the infection and was therefore not included among the drugs approved in 2020 by the Japanese Ministry of Health.

There is also no trace of the alleged authorization of ivermectin in August 2021, when Internet users maintain that it was administered to covid patients in Japan. Japan only approved remdesivir and baricitinib for these purposes.

In fact, the World Health Organization (WHO) advised against the use of ivermectin in patients with covid on March 31, 2021 for not obtaining reliable results of its efficacy.

THE MOST USED VACCINE IN JAPAN, WITH 200 MILLION DOSES

And, in the face of the falsehood that he was Pfizer’s main enemy, the truth is that, far from being an anti-vaccine, Abe signed a statement in May 2020 together with the presidents of the European Council, Charles Michel, and the European Commission , Ursula von der Leyen, in which it was defended that future anticovid vaccines were available to everyone and were a “common global good”.

In addition, the Ministry of Health included the Pfizer vaccine in the immunization plan against covid since its inception in February 2021 -with the Government in the hands of Abe’s party, although he was no longer prime minister- and the data proves that It is the most widely used in Japan, with more than 200 million doses to date, 70% of all anticovid serums administered to the Japanese population.
