His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, concluded his visit to the United States of America by meeting senior officials of the US government and congressional leaders, in Washington, DC.

During his meeting with Jake Sullivan, the US National Security Adviser, and his meeting with Brett McGurk, Deputy Assistant to the President and White House Coordinator for Middle East and North Africa Affairs, His Highness affirmed the joint commitment to cooperation in efforts to promote peace in the region. During the two meetings, efforts to provide humanitarian aid to Syria and Turkey were reviewed following the devastating earthquake that struck the two countries recently.

His Highness stressed the UAE’s keenness to deepen cooperation with the United States of America in the field of addressing climate change, ahead of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 28) next November in Expo City Dubai.

On the other hand, His Highness met with Ambassador Deborah Lipstadt, the United States envoy to monitor and combat anti-Semitism, where His Highness highlighted the Abrahamic Family House, which includes three places of worship, a mosque, a church and a synagogue, and it was inaugurated yesterday in Abu Dhabi, while it will start receiving visitors on the first of March 2023.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, during his meeting with the US Special Envoy to Yemen Tim Linderking, also learned about the US efforts to address the crisis in Yemen, and the two sides affirmed their firm support for international efforts aimed at reaching a peaceful solution to the crisis.

Also within the framework of the visit, His Highness met with Senator Ben Cardin, a member of the Senate, where they discussed aspects of cooperation between the two countries in several fields.

The meetings were attended by Ambassador Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Political Affairs and Permanent Representative of the State to the United Nations, and Yousef Manea Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the United States of America.
